Potentino

Italy - 2020

At Potentino, I set out to revive the local fauna: wolves, deer, lynxes, whose presence had faded with urbanization. Upon arrival, I built a wood-fired kiln to fire the artworks. The mortar combined mud, sand, clay, dry grass, and horse dung in precise proportions, mixed with my feet in a plastic tub.
I sculpted medium-sized animals and urns, inspired by Etruscan art, carefully shaping each piece. The urns carried the portrait heads of the six women living in the castle, transforming raw materials into vessels of memory, presence, and resilience.
