The Collective 62

Miami - 2021

At Collective62, I collaborated with resident artists to build a wood-burning updraft kiln — not as a group show, but as a shared experiment.
We worked with clay, water, grass, sand, and manure, mixing everything in the pisadero, stepping together until it reached the perfect consistency. That act became a metaphor for the process itself: letting go of what each of us carried to become one.
A Fire Offering is about transformation of materials, perspectives, and ourselves. Like the alchemists, we let fire do the work: melting, shaping, and revealing what lies within. For me, fire is not only a medium; it is desire, the spark that makes change possible.
