The Origin of origins

2023

With Alfredo Muñoz, I shared an experience in the Calchaquí Valleys that led us to seek what is most ancient: the Ur, that time before time where myth and matter merge. Our meeting point was ceramics, the union of earth, water, fire, and air, transformed by the human hand.

In this exhibition, we pay homage to the elements and to the sacredness of Nature: clay and firewood, corn and water, tobacco and seeds, the animals and warriors I modeled, Alfredo’s apachetas, and the native trees that close the journey. Everything calls us to remember that we are travelers on this earth, pilgrims giving thanks for what is essential.

Returning to the origin is never easy, but in each vessel, in each trunk, in every fire that lights up the night, I try to reconnect with what is simple, with what is sacred, with the infinite generosity of Mother Earth.
